So I'm behind...

again as usual :).

Here is the 11th week information.
Your Baby
All of your baby's vital organs are now formed and functioning, so the risk of defects decreases this week as your baby becomes less susceptible to outside influences. Phew! Other exciting developments include:

Baby's ears are assuming their proper place this week and the fingernail and toenail beds are beginning to form. Your little "pumpkin head" really lives up to his nickname as his head is nearly as big as the rest of his body.

While testes or ovaries are completely formed now, don't start decorating the nursery. You won't be able to see your baby's gender for a few more weeks yet.

Your baby is really on the move now. In an ultrasound you might be able to see your little acrobat flailing his or her arms and legs and doing somersaults worthy of Cirque du Soleil. You still won't be able to feel any movement, so if you feel something "kick" in there, it's probably gas.

In the next nine weeks, your baby will increase 30 times in weight and almost triple in length. You might feel like you're increasing 30 times in weight at this point, too, but we can assure you're not—because, honey, you ain't seen nothin' yet!

Your baby now weighs a third of an ounce, about the same as two small, Starbucks-sized packets of sugar, is about 2 inches long, the length of one of those sugar packets. Isn't that sweet?

11 Weeks Pregnant

I didn't feel so hot during this week. Morning/all day sickness came back big time. We went to the Dr at 11w3d she searched for the heartbeat, couldn't find it. She kept finding mine and at one point as she moved across my belly I heard a beat that was off from mine, but I think she assumed it was mine again and moved off of it really fast. I'm going to stick with saying that was it :). She said since I still have symptoms that she isn't concerned and that it was still really early, I'm saying all my extra flub caused the issue. She said to come back in two weeks, which is this wednesday and she will try again, if she can't find it with the Doppler, we'll try with the Ultrasound. Part of me wants her to find it quickly, part of me wants to find it on the u/s. :)

Here is 12 weeks, which was last week!
Baby's face is looking more human as his eyes have moved to the front of his head and his ears are in place. Hooray! Other amazing fetal highlights this week:

Your baby is able to swallow this week and practices on the amniotic fluid he or she floats in. (And you thought baby food was kind of nasty!) And in case you're wondering how your kid can breathe in all that fluid, here's your answer: Fetuses get oxygen from the blood pumped into their bodies by the placenta and don't breathe with their lungs. Mystery solved!

This is kind of gross, albeit fascinating, so feel free to skip ahead: Your baby's intestines are well under way, but they aren't all where you'd expect them to be. Instead of all being locked away in the body cavity, some are dangling on the outside, in the umbilical cord. Ewwww.

Don't forget to put a baby nail file on your registry—your little nugget's finger- and toenails are forming this week. The chin and nose are also becoming more defined.

Junior has doubled in size over the past two weeks and now weighs almost ½ ounce. He's also now around 2 ½ inches long, about the length of your pinky finger or a Vienna sausage, which, in a few months, will be indistinguishable from one another.

12 Weeks Pregnant

I still felt pretty crummy this week, throwing up has increased a LOT. However, I drank some juice yesterday morning and although I threw most of it up, whatever stayed down must have helped, and I finally had a good BM so I don't feel plugged up from bottom to top.

Allison and Caiden came for a visit on Tuesday which was wonderful! He makes my heart melt and I can't wait for him and baby s to be friends! Allison and I also decided we should all go on a Disney cruise in a few years! When I told Dillon he said "I think I'm busy that week" ha. he can't wait, he just doesn't like admitting it!

We were watching that stupid show about moms who put their little girls in pagents (sorry if you don't find it the most ridiculus thing ever, i'll explain to you why it is someday). And Dill was ewwin and awwin through the whole thing! It was so cute :)

I wore full on maternity pants one day this week, I woke up and felt HUGE and knew I was not squeezing into any of my regular clothes. I also had an OMG moment at the end of last week, I was getting ready for the shower and looking at the spots on the back of my neck in the mirror, well stupid judgement made me look down my back and BANG hips! I've always pretty much went straight down and my hips weren't much bigger than the rest of my body. Well. I'm pear shaped now haha. JEEZ! Oh well baby needs room!

I feel pretty good today, supposed to be doing homework, opps. Guess I'll do it tomorrow! I may go take a tummy picture now!
Dillon and I finally got the living room back to it's normal shape today, feels huge in there now! I'll hopefully get an update in after our appt wed! --dillon, emily, baby s.

10th week!

Well so tomorrow starts the 11th week of our pregnancy HOLY MOLY time flies. We managed to get some cleaning done out in the garage yesterday since the weather was UNBELIEVABLE! I've felt okay this week, not as good as last week, but pretty close. Seems the nausea is coming more in the evenings now, which isn't fun since that is when Dillon wants his biggest meal and I just want like two bites of something. 2nd tri is nearing however, so hopefully that means I'll start feeling better soon?!
I also got my hair cut this week! Opps got a little short, but I guess that's okay, longer before it will need cut again with these vitamins they have me on!
We have an appointment on Wednesday, we SHOULD be able to hear if not see the heart beat, I'm hoping see it, not sure though! Be ready for the tears Dillon! :) I'm so glad he's going with me to all of these!

The kiddo: was the size of a kumqwat this week, since I find the world hilarious, that's what I've been calling Dillon all week and it's annoying him like crazy! The baby has finally lost it's tail and all webbing this week also!

10 Weeks Pregnant

By the end of Week 10, your baby graduates from embryo to fetus, which literally means "little one." It also translates to "I'm just going to keep getting bigger and bigger and so are you!" Other highlights this week:

Your baby has finally morphed from a little tadpole into, well, a baby. Not only is the face more human-like, but that unflattering "tail" (really just the developing spinal cord) has disappeared, fusing into the spinal column.

Your baby now has discernible fingers and toes, which will explain the steady stream of kicks and punches you'll feel down the line.

Junior's skeleton is starting to grow and harden. The ears are beginning to take shape and the eyelids are no longer transparent. Tooth buds are forming, although your baby won't get any teeth until six or seven (or eight or nine or 10) months after birth.

Baby's brain will make an incredible 25,000 new neurons every minute this week. While you may feel like you're losing as many as he's gaining, we can assure you it's not permanent. "Pregnancy brain," like nausea and bloating, is a temporary symptom that soon shall pass. (And then you'll get "Mommy brain," but we won't go there now.)

If you're baby is a boy, he's started producing that macho hormone testosterone. And whether your baby is a boy or a girl, the kidneys are creating copious amounts of urine. Lucky for you, you won't have to change a diaper for another 30 weeks.

Baby weighs only 4 grams and measures 1½ inches, about the size of a mondo Brazil nut.

week 9!

So the 9th week has basically come and gone! Pretty uneventful..I felt really good this week, which makes me a little nervous, but glad to not be sick all of the time. I started showering at night and I think that really helped curve the start of the queasiness. We have 8 1/2+ inches of snow on the ground! And it's coming down like crazy again! We took the dogs out in it earlier! Truman loved it! Izzy didn't really care she just thought he was being crazy. I did read Twilight in two days this week! Crazy good book! Can't wait to get the next one!!

Your Baby
Big news! You may be able to hear the heartbeat this week with the help of a Doppler, an ultrasound device that captures the chug-a-chug sound of baby's heart. The first time you hear baby's heart, your own heart may skip a beat—it's the first real evidence that there's someone growing inside you! If you can't hear the heartbeat, no worries, your doc will just check again in a few weeks. Other amazing developments this week:

Baby is beginning to move, but you won't be able to feel anything for some time.

Baby is growing nipples and hair follicles (although there's still a chance you'll be giving birth to a baldy!) His pancreas, gallbladder, bile ducts and anus are all in place, ready to poop and pee a dozen times a day when he's born. Your baby's head is half the size of his body and his little chin is tucked into his chest. His tiny tail is beginning to shrink away, giving Junior a more human and less amphibious look.

Until now, all pre-babies look the same "down there." This week, however, your baby will begin to develop either male or female genitalia. In layman terms, your baby is beginning to develop her hoo-ha or his wee-wee. While you won't be able to find out the gender of your baby for several more weeks, the version you'll give birth to is being developed right now.

At this stage, your developing fetus is 1-inch in length, about the size of a martini olive (you remember martinis, don't you?) and weighs a mere 2 grams—a little less than a penny.

9 Weeks Pregnant

Last week

So we had our first OB appointment last Friday the 13th. It was basically a PAP and Q and A session. It was reassuring although she didn't tell me much, other than to expect some bleeding from the Pap which I had. They took 6 vials of blood and made me pee in a cup. We go back in a month, I think she said she would call if something was wrong with the blood work. Didn't hear from her today although I called them late to ask another question, guess it wasn't a huge deal since I didn't hear back so that is good. Said we should be able to see/hear the heartbeat next appointment and sex between 16-20 weeks...I know I kept saying I didn't want to know, but it is SO hard already and it's only going to get worse. I want to buy cute clothes and i can't find any gender neutral ones-. :(

Been feeling okay, the M/S comes and goes all day long. Dry heaves come and go. Still have only thrown up once. My face is still broken out like a 13 y/o especially where I have a lot of hair, strange but true.
I told my supervisor that went well and she said I could take all twelve weeks and not have to make up all of my unit loss so that is AWESOME!

Dill is still not feeling well, got him into the Dr on Thursday, its far away but she's off wed and her Tuesday appt time was no good. Hopefully he's better by then. But doubtful.

Tayna had her MRI today, praying that the results come back in a positive light. If not we'll pray for strength from God to get us through this.

So I've been terrible about updating as batsta pointed out to me! :) Been super busy, didn't have school last week, but works been crazy, my house has been a mess and we've been entertaining me adorable little cousins :) But I'm two weeks behind on showing you what our bean looks like!

Here is from last Monday at 7 weeks!
his week your baby's brain is growing at a mind-boggling 100 cells per minute within a see-through skull. If you could peer inside, you'd see those tiny brain cells growing and growing and growing (about as quickly as you feel like yours are shrinking and shrinking and shrinking with your "pregnancy brain"!). More high points include:

Your baby's face is becoming more defined this week. A tiny mouth hole (which will be ready to wail before you know it!), tongue, nostrils and ear indentations are visible. His or her eyes are wide open, but he doesn't have irises (the colored part) yet.

Baby's arm buds are growing. At this point they look more like microscopic ping-pong paddles than arms. Baby's leg buds are also forming and will look like tiny paddles by the end of the week.

The umbilical cord—the connection between your baby and the placenta—is now visible.

Your baby is now between 1/3 and 1/4 inch long—about the length of a Tic Tac and about as heavy as an eyelash. While that sounds tiny, he or she is approximately 10,000 times bigger than at conception. Crazy, huh?

7 Weeks Pregnant

Your baby's eyelids, ears, upper lip and the tip of his soon-to-be adorable button nose are forming.

Junior will also sprout webbed fingers and toes this week—which you'll be well aware of in a few months, as baby starts early gymnastics classes inside you.

Baby's tiny heart has separated into four distinct chambers and is really ticking now—at a rate of 150 beats per minute. That's more than twice your resting heart rate (even when Brad Pitt is on the screen).

Your baby is now a little more than ½ inch long, about the size of the rock in Eva Longoria's engagement ring, and is about as heavy as the check Tony Parker wrote to pay for it.

This week starts a period of rapid cellular development for your baby-to-be, who looks like a mini tadpole, with a tiny head and tail. His or her eyes, ears and mouth have begun to form (though they're a little more Discovery Channel "creatures of the sea" documentary than Gerber Baby at this point).

Other exciting milestones include:

Your baby's heart is now beating to a regular beat, although it's still too faint to hear.

His or her arm buds are just beginning to, well, bud. They look like teensy swollen bumps at this point. In a few days, they'll resemble itsy-bitsy flippers.

Your baby has grown to ⅛ inch long—about the size of one of the chocolate sprinkles on your last cupcake (and your last ice cream cone, and your last sundae and your last giant cookie ... maybe there is something to those rumors about pregnancy cravings!).

So I'm home sick from work today. I had my first bout with more than just queezy morning sickness. Yuck. Although I must admit I was kind of glad to just get it out of me instead of needing to and not being able to. Once that was over with my head was near explosion SO, I called in. Napped for a while. Head still hurts I took some medicine. Hopefully it will help soon I can't take it much longer, especially since it hurt most of yesterday. Dillon text me earlier and said he knew what he was buying Garlic toast (i'll explain shortly), they aparently make minature duck calls now that you can pre order and engrave. They come in blue and pink, cute! But it'll have to wait until later since we aren't finding out what it is! Garlic toast: I was with my mom the other day b/c my jeep was being fixed, so she's on the phone with my dad who told her to invite us out for spagehtti and he said, "Tell Emily and Dillon to come, it's been a while since I saw garlic toast"..b/c my mom had just told him about my bun in the oven shirt! he's so funny and random.



We told everyone this weekend. It was SO much fun. My grandma cried, we told grandparents by a card with our wedding picture on it, inside it said "they say grandparents are the best, but it will be our little secret that great grandparents are even better. See you in September, love baby S. :) my cousins were SO excited, my aunts were ecstatic, my grandpa was teared up :), I LOVE watching peoples faces when you tell them. It is just the best feeling in the world to share the miracle with everyone. Then I text all of our friends and told them :). Rosie was SO excited too. You hear this little one, stick in there. Three of the Trimnals are back! Yay! Tanya looks really good and I'm SO glad she is fighting this, we need her around and she is being a GREAT example to her children by showing them how to be strong! She read my shirt first, it said "nothin' says lovin' like a bun in the oven" and had lil feet down at my belly, she said she saw the feet first and then read it and looked at me and of course I was smiling HUGE and then she said mom read this and my aunt read it and said "are you trying to tell us something" of course I said yes! haha :) So Alexa got to tell Ryan and then they called Troy and Dalton!

I think people are pretty surprised it happened so fast! We are too. But we both have been talking about having kids for probably 3 of our 4 years together, we just knew we wanted them. Also because of school they said, it isn't good to be stressed during practicum and internship, so it was either have the stress of a newborn before and after, and I maybe getting up there in years by the time -after- rolls around. We're so blessed it happens really quick. Now we just pray it sticks.
