24th week.

We got to see our pumpkin again this week! Yay!! :) We went on Wednesday back to St Lukes for the ultrasound/fetal echo. There was a student there so the tech was really thorough and explained everything in great detail which was nice! Looks like we're going to be ignoring the weight/length measurements from 3dpregnancy.com from now on..Baby S is a bit ahead of the curve. Baby's heart looks great, he/she got hiccups in the middle of it, which was the first time I felt them, the tech was pushing really hard on my stomach so I guess that's why I felt them! It was a really cool feeling! They remeasured him/her and it looks like the baby is going to get my families size genes. I was 24w2d yesterday, the baby measured 26w5d and there is no way I'm that far along. The tech looked at us and said "neither of you are that tall, why is this baby so long"..I had to explain to her that my brother is 6'6'' and my cousin is 6'8'', not many people in my family are under 6' tall. Her eyes got really big and she said "okay well that would explain it". DH is 5'7'' and 130lbs dripping wet..most people in his family are similar in size if not smaller. So our kid may look like a giant compared to them! :) Baby S weighs 2lb 1oz and is the 90th percentile for just about every measurement they took. She said well it's pretty skinny so it shouldn't be too hard to push out! Well that's good news! Not sure what my Dr will do from here on out, since we were at a special clinic..I imagine she'll do another u/s when I get farther along to see how big the squirt is! That's all for now just wanted to share!

It was really cool, they were able to zoom to each chamber of the heart and listen specifically to that chamber and watch the blood flow! Technology is so cool!
Since that appt Baby S has been on the move! Which is WONDERFUL! Makes me relax!
BP is still a little high even with medication so that's no good. I'm also getting more nervous about the possibility of GD. I haven't felt so hot this week, some days my heart races, other times it's barely pumpin..my chest just feels off. So i'll have to talk to the Dr about that.

Allison printed the shower invites. I really want to post one on here but I want those of you I know in real life, to see them in person first! So cute!

I put pictures of my belly progression side my side this am, i'll post those below!
My mom has started painting the nursery! We went with a pale green that matches the bedding, I think she is going to paint animals on the wall too whenever she finds 5 minutes to spare! My grandpa also agreed to make us a changing table/shelf! I'm sending him a picture of Lemon's to go off of :)! I love it!

Here is the babies info for this past week!

Your baby isn't just sitting around (on your bladder) doing nothing, he's working hard preparing for life outside the womb—perfecting his lungs and packing on the pounds. He'll gain ½ pound this week alone. Other highlights this week:

Things are starting to get a little crowded inside the old womb as baby grows bigger and bigger. Your ribs are probably pining away for the good old days when they didn't have a foot permanently lodged between them. Hate to break it to you, but it's going to get worse before it gets better.

Your baby's ears are fully functional now. And since they are, you may notice that loud noises and sudden movements can startle the little bugger. He's getting used to the everyday sounds inside the womb: the sound of your heart beating, your lungs inhaling and exhaling air, the growling of your stomach because your partner promised he'd be right back with that double cheeseburger and he's taking forever! He'll even be able to hear your voice when your partner finally arrives and you ask him where the bleep he's been! So talk nice!

Baby's got a fully developed inner ear now. This means his sense of balance is working and he can tell whether he's hanging upside down or right side up. He can also feel you moving, so go ahead, pop in your favorite tunes and boogie.

Your little Wiener schnitzel is about the length of a foot-long Chicago hot dog and weighs about 1 1/3 pounds.

~~again...ignore the last sentence we're way ahead of that! Here are my belly pics and then the ultra sound pics!

you can click on each of those to make them bigger if you want them to be more clear!

23rd week.

I don't remember this week being to eventful. Baby was pretty still most of the week, made me a tad nervous, but I've found leaning forward helps me feel some movement so I did that a lot during the week! Dillon also started reading to Baby S nightly and he/she loves it and moves during that time!

Izzy is at school this week, I called to check on her, the trainer said she was taking up on the obedience really well, said she was really excited about retrieving (duh that's our problem she's too excited) and that she really likes her food...she didn't get that big from starving mister. Dillon went on Sat to train with her for the first time..truman went nuts when he got home and was stuck to Dillon's leg with his nose going 23423 mph. it was adorable and broke my heart at the same time.

So here's the babies info for this week!

Your baby's got a while to go before her lungs will be ready for air and is practicing her "breathing" on the amniotic fluid—sucking it in and out of her lungs. Other highlights this week:

Fat production is in overdrive at this point (for the baby, not you! Well, OK, maybe for the baby and you). Your baby will basically double in weight over the next four weeks! You'll be happy to know the same won't apply to you.

Your Mini is starting to look more like a newborn as her skin becomes less see-through. Her body is looking more proportional now, although her head is still kinda big compared to her cute little body.

Your baby is about 11½ inches long and weighs 1 pound, or about the length and weight of a Harry Potter book.

Baby S's heart beat

Let see if this works!

Original Video - More videos at TinyPic
went to the Dr yesterday, I'm measuring well..no weight gain since last appt yay! Heartbeat sounds good :) I guess the baby kept moving that's why it comes and goes in the clip! had to start BP medication..she said she thinks it's going to just keep creeping up and I think she's right. So i taken something twice a day..hopefully it works! Have to do my glucose tolerance test in 4 weeks. boo.

Good news is NEXT week we get to see our lil bean again :) For the fetal echo!

Went to see Cassie's lil boy today..either I haven't really paid attention before, or I'm used to new borns being swaddled when I hold them...but he was TINY. Goodness. I'm gonna break my baby. When you think about them coming out of you it's like holy cow they're huge. But then actually holding them they're lil bitty. eck now I'm nervous.

Oh in another adorable news..this whole fatherhood thing is changing dillon..we were at a ball game last night and there was a little kid standing on a chain link fence with his head stickin up above the higher fence that is suppose to stop fly balls...dillon said "that little kid is gonna get smacked in the face with a fly ball" in a really worried tone/with a worried look on his face and he watched him until he got down...it was so adorable because had I said something like that a few months ago dillon woulda said "oh he's just being a boy he'll be fine don't worry"..ah I love it :)
that's all for today! adios
