Back to the Dr this week. it was a good appt. One of the first things she asked was when my last u/s was, i told her around 30 weeks, so she looked at the chart and mmhmmed and said ya it was measuring ahead then...so then she said, next time you come in (which would be in two weeks) remind me and we'll schedule you for another u/s just to see where we are size wise. I said okay ,laid back and she went to measure my fundal height (how big my uterus is)...I've been measuring at home and getting about 38 cm (I'm not entirely sure where the top of it is)...it should measure one cm for each week so it should have been 34 cm...anyways when she got done measuring she went to my chart write it down, when she came back to listen to the HB she said..i changed my mind we're going to schedule that u/s today for in two weeks, just incase; we don't want to be rushing around...after that we may talk induction. insert big eyes here.
So we scheduled the u/s for Sept 4th. I go see her the 1st, I guess we'll talk induction when i see her the 8th. if she lets me pick a day, i'm going for the 14th. It's the day i've been saying since the beginning.
still going for NST's. baby usually is cooperating. i love listening to the HB. some of the nurses turn it way down, which is annoying..i want to hear..every single beat. BP is still really good, especially during NST's that sound is so relaxing.
my grandpa brought the changing table this week. LOVE it. I'll post pictures as soon as I remember to take some. i'm efficient. we also went to the chiefs game this week..it POURed down rain on us. POURed. but it was good times regardless. :) we left at half time. i don't think we could have been anymore wet had we jumped in a swimming pool. lol..it's our luck. it didn't rain all day. 2 minutes into the game, down pour.
here is 3d info:
Your Baby
Your baby kind of looks like she's coated in a layer of cream cheese these days. The thick, white substance that protects her skin from pruning in the amniotic fluid is called vernix. When she's born you'll probably see some vernix lingering in her "hard-to-reach" places like under her arms, behind her ears and around her va-jay-jay, if she's a she.. Other news from the womb this week:
The soft fur, lanugo, that covered your baby's body for much of her stay in the womb is now almost completely gone. Your baby begins to develop her own immune system, instead of relying solely on antibodies received through the placenta. This will come in handy when some grubby relative manhandles the baby without washing his hands first.
This week, your baby measures about 17¾ inches, as almost as long as an American Girl Doll (!) and weighs almost 5 pounds, as heavy as a bag of sugar, minus the cup you put in your decaf this morning.

33rd week.
Am I seriously 4 weeks behind?! Oops! Time flies I guess. I did post during this week, it was the day I was having contractions. That was an exciting day! Did i post that Dillon came home and nested? It was hilarious..he went crazy cleaning the kitchen! yay for him. i'm dying for my nesting to kick in...my brain is going crazy saying clean clean clean..my body..not so much. My hips continued to be really sore this week. They were last week too when i went to my appt she commented that it was pretty early for my hips/ligaments to be stretching out but no biggie. We started NST's this week, which was really cool. We (well usually just me) sit and listen to the HB for at least 20 mins, once they get 5 accelerations in the HB they fax the report to Dr Phelps and then I get the all clear. The whole process usually takes an hour to an hour and a half. It's great time for me to relax and put my feet up! I should also point out that I started feeling MUCH better as far as my BP goes, the med increase REALLY helped!

Your Baby
The big news this week is lung development—baby's respiratory system is almost completely mature. That means if your baby was born this week, odds are he'd be a healthy bouncing baby with a just a little help from his friends (aka, the NICU). Some of the specifics are:
Your baby can now detect light and tell the difference between night and day (of course that ability will miraculously disappear once he's born and up all night screaming). His pupils will constrict and dilate in response to light. If you shine a flashlight on your belly, your baby may shy away from the light as if to say, "Cut it out, Ma. You're soooo annoying."
The bones in your baby's skull are soft and are not yet fused together. In other words, now is not the time to teach him how to do a headspin while breakdancing. This pliability allows the bones to overlap; making that trip down the tight birth canal possible (and resulting in that surprising cone head look your baby will sport for the first few days post-birth. Don't worry, it's totally normal and that's what hats are for.)
Your baby will continue to pack on the pounds gaining around ½ pound a week from here on out.
Your baby weighs about 4½ pounds, as much as a grownup duck, and is approximately 17.5 inches long, about the same as a collarbone-length pearl necklace. (Did somebody say push present?)

yay for my mommy!
I LOVE my mom! For many reasons...one of course is her oh so talented hands. I wish she would have passed SOME of her talent on to me...i did spend 10 months in her tumtum..you would think she could have sent me some through that cord attaching us. :) Oh well..I don't mind as long as she keeps sharing her talent with me by just doing it for me! :) Dillon also said last night that he wishes I would have gotten some of her cleaning skills.. he's so kind. So my madre finished the painting on the walls yesterday and it's SO cute in there..i just go in there and stand..i can't wait until we get out chair this week..then i can sit and stare :)...here are the pictures! She free hand painted all of it, just from looking at the animals on the comforter. *mwah* love you mom! thank you!!
The room isn't finished yet so you don't get to see much of it! Just the walls! Hopefully it will be completed by next week?! *fingers crossed*

below the giraffe will be the changing table--we're waiting for my gpa to finish making it! the giraffe should look like it's standing on the table..or close to it! :)

the monkey is tailless because she is going to make one out of fabric and drape it over the picture frame, which is made from an old window...the basinett will be moved to our room and when we get the glider this week it will go under the in this region somewhere!

my first experience with contractions
happened today. I was at wal-mart with a client when i realized my back was KILLING me. bad bad bad. and that I had a ton of pressure in my butt. we kept going and got out of the store. on our way to dollar general my stomach got as hard as a rock. it was about 12:35...didn't hurt other than some cramping really low. she ran inside. took forever. i took her home. 12:46..happened again as i was walking into the house, with lots of pressure down low. 12:55..my dad gets back from lunch with my mom...happening again. no pain just tightening all over my stomach. i laid down..more weird pain going on. 1:05ish..happened again....1:15ish again...1:20...had another one...ack that wasn't 10 minutes that was only five...read my hospital sheet it says to call if i get 5 or more in an hour...but to rest to see if that helps. 1:30...happens again...nerves start...i packed a suitcase real fast..at this point they let up a little and i couldn't tell if they were still happening. 1:45 i head out to get my client still getting small strange feelings..decided i had better call the hospital before too long..so i called and talked to a nurse...she said it was up to me..i met requirements for coming in but that if they didn't hurt i could wait an hour to see if they stopped since we have a drive..but to most certainly come in if they got stronger or i had bleeding or my water broke.. .they kind of went away even more while my client was in with the dr from 2:30-2:45....the baby was just way up in my lungs pushing so breathing was hard. so ever since then my stomach has gotten hard a couple of times...still have some strange pain going on but baby is moving as much as normal and i have a NST tomorrow so we can make sure all is well...
first nst went good as soon as the baby woke up.....it slept for the first 20 minutes so it didn't show any heart accels but then once it woke up we were good to go!

32nd week
So we went back to the dr tuesday...all is well HB was a little faster than it has been but dr didn't seem concerned...my BP was up again...so she doubled my meds again. yuck. but i actually am feeling better so that's good. she said she'll continue to watch my belly growth because "big babies aren't fun for anyone"...so hopefully that means she won't let me get to a 10 lb baby. Our first NST is scheduled for Tuesday..I'm kind of looking forward to it since I'll get to listen to the HB for like 20 mins...yay!
the baby is so active today! It had been quiet the past couple days as it had a busy weekend..but it's going nuts in there right now!
My mom has been working very hard on the nursery..i need to put up some updated pictures of her drawings..they are AMAZING! dillon's impressed too and it takes a lot to get him to say something is "neat or cool" which he continues to say every time she adds more! just waiting on my GPA to finish the changing table...he better hop too! :) we could have an outside baby in like 4 weeks. ACK! not ready.
Our shower was a week and a half ago. it was so much fun and beautiful! the girls did an amazing job and we got a lot of great gifts! i love baby stuff :) especially stuff for my baby! i'll post pics after i DL them from the ol camera....i'm so lazy these days i have no energy..i need to do laundry and our house is a mess but sitting on the couch sounds like a lot more fun...i'm working quite a bit to try and get my units up so i don't get in trouble and its wearing me out..my clients have been pretty overwhelming lately too but i won't get into that! :)
that's all for now here is the 3d stuff!
Although your baby will still remain active, his days of trying out for Cirque du Soleil are nearly over. About this time your baby will settle into the head-down position in preparation for birth. Other fascinating facts:
Both you and baby are putting on some serious weight at this point. You'll probably gain about a pound a week for the next few weeks, with half of that poundage bulking up baby. He'll likely double his weight in the next eight weeks.
Ever wonder what your baby is doing in there these days? He's busy blinking, looking around, grabbing things, making faces, practicing his breathing, peeing and listening to everything around him—pretty much exactly what he'll be doing for the first three months of his life, sans the adoring audience and the flashing camera.
Your baby may (or may not) have a full head of hair now. If she's a baldy, don't worry. You can always buy a Baby Toupee or some adhesive barrettes.
By the end of this week, your baby will weigh about 4 pounds and measure over 17 inches long—about the length of a hot pair of above-the-knee boots. Christian Louboutin? Manolo Blahnik? We're thinking Isaac Mizrahi for Target—you've got a nursery to furnish!

3d pregnancy stuff for 31st week
From this week on, your baby will continue to gain around ½ pound a week until shortly before birth (even though it may feel like a whole lot more with every step you take). Other highlights this week:
Due to increasing space constraints, your baby's arms and legs stay drawn up close to the body now, known as the fetal position (oh, so that's where that name came from!). Plus, your baby can now process information from all five senses—so she'll be all set to smell the pureed peas, taste them, feel them as she mashes them into her hair, hear you crack up and then see the flash as you grab the camera to snap picture after picture.
By now, your baby's lungs are the only system not fully mature. And by mature, we're not saying that the rest of your baby's systems are mature enough to be out past 10 PM with the neighborhood hooligan, just that her lungs need a little bit more time to bake before they can kick it in the outside world.
Your baby weighs about 3½ pounds and measures a little over 16 inches, about the same length as that miniskirt you used to wear (and will again someday!).
31st week
So baby was big time on the move this week..which is great! i love being able to feel him/her move around all the time!
we also had our 3rd u/s this week....i was slightly annoyed as they had told me to drink 32 oz of water a hour before the appt...i get there about to explode i have to pee so bad..i lay on the table she lubes me up...looks at my bladder on the screen as it was taking up my whole stomach region says oh my gosh your bladder is full..i said ya they told me it had to be....she said oh don't listen if you have to come back your far enough along now...WHAT?! i'm in serious pain lady...she said if you need to go let me know..uh duh. i need to go or you'll be cleaning up a big mess....so she lets me up here i am half undressed covered in gel waddling to the bathroom..oh i felt so much better and could breathe/relax...it's not a nice thing to do to a person who is 31 weeks pregnant.
So she did all the measuring...baby has tons oh hair! :) its so cute! measuring about 2 weeks larger but she said they can be off by up to that much....although i don't think it is...baby is weighing about 4 lbs 6 oz which is a little larger than what is mentioned on websites...here are some pictures!
